Floors

A floor is a continuous, supporting surface extending horizontally on one level throughout a building and is the part of a room or space that forms its lower enclosing surface. It provides structural support for the elements and constructions in the room and the weight of itself. With the right materials it is possible to improve the acoustic and insulation abilities of existing floor constructions or create a new floor construction that ensures resistance to the passage of moisture, heat and sound. The decorative part of the floor contributes to the look, feel and acoustics of a space.

When it comes to floor constructions in general there are 2 types - solid floors, built up from the ground, and suspended floors, supported by wall/plinths structures. We offer structural and also decorative boards that can be used for grid floors and also for floating floors solutions.

Grid floors

In this construction type the floor covering is supported by grids (there are several types – wood, metal, I-beams and others), so the floor construction does not need full plane for support, which allows the usage of maximum thin floor covering. The grids are supported by walls or plinths. These floors have a high mechanical resistance. There are no “wet works” during installation which means the floor covering can be laid immediately.

Floating floors

This type floor covering is supported by an existing base (reinforced concrete, existing flat wooden base, sand, soil, etc.). Two floor layers are screwed or glued together, but are not fixed to the base. This type is more profitable on the condition that there already is a flat base to build the floor on. These floors have a better sound insulation. There are no “wet works” during installation which means the floor covering can be laid immediately.
